Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy is widely credited not only for ushering in a new chapter in the Twin Cities’ comedy scene, but for also rejuvenating the fourth floor of the Mall of America. KOMA engineers, architects and interior designers worked with PCL Construction Services and Audio Video Planners to develop this Vegas-style, 350-seat, 6,000 square-foot theater. Fully digital and featuring 25-foot ceilings, a VIP section, a posh bar and the gourmet R Burger Bar restaurant, the $1.1 million enterprise also showcases local artist Michael Birawer’s 30-foot-long Twin Cities skyline mural. House of Comedy acts have appeared on Leno, Letterman, Conan, Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central, among others.
