Gopher Resource Corporation is a leader in environmentally safe recycling of lead, plastics, hazardous waste and commercial real estate. A longtime partner of Gopher, KOMA was commissioned to design a 30,000-square-foot, two-story facility that would house a state-of-the-art hygiene function and eventually accommodate a corporate office. All aspects of the project were to reflect the Gopher brand and philosophy through use of sustainable materials, efficient use of space, minimalist architecture and strategic use of color. The design included solutions for hazardous material containment, packaging and recycling, accessibility and ergonomics.
