April, 2009 – Cottage Grove, MN – Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc., recently announced its involvement with the Park High School ventilation and building improvement project.
Park High School, part of South Washington County School ISD 833, is a 320,000-square-foot, two-floor building in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc., worked with the school district and Martin Pevzner Engineering, P.A., to provide a significant upgrade in air quality throughout the school by overhauling the original mechanical (heating and cooling) systems. Classrooms will now be air conditioned for the first time, and the additional installation of energy efficient systems will allow the school to save on future utility bills.
Also updated were ceilings and lighting systems throughout the school, along with a complete interior renovation of 11 science rooms and an art room. A new front entry addition, a tiered-seat lecture hall, a sky-lit student commons, new administration offices and a 4,500-square-foot wrestling room addition were also completed.
The work also included renovation of seven existing student and staff restroom groups; compete renovation of more than 200 original, 1965-era windows with energy efficient, integral blinded windows; and a major overhaul of the auditorium stage, hall flooring and sound booth.
