November 2013 – South St. Paul, MN – The Veterinary Hospital Association (VHA), broke their record with over 370 participants in this year’s ‘The Future is Now’ expo. The VHA is an association created for veterinarians by veterinarians with the goal of helping practices by lowering their bottom line. Membership includes group purchasing, as well as reliable and caring cremation services, practice management expertise, and continuing education. Each year the expo draws in veterinarian practice owners, veterinarians, technicians, and buyers. The expo provides key speakers, references, and continuing education and this year they also announced an exciting new opportunity – Operation Renovation.
Operation Renovation allows the first 10 clinics that sign up to invest $500 in exchange for an assessment valued at $5000. The assessment will be done by a team of 5 companies including experts in the fields of technology systems, practice management, office design and supplies, architecture, construction, and regulatory compliance. As a team, these companies will assess each clinic and offer prioritized solutions for improved success. Each clinic will receive a completed assessment, but one of the clinics will be carefully selected by the team for a clinic makeover valued at up to $50,000.
Krech, O’Brien, Mueller, and Associates, Inc. (KOMA) is partnering with J.L. Sullivan as one of the teams to provide design-build services. The assessment of each clinic will consist of a written list of things that we could do to the clinic in order to create a better facility (aesthetically, functionally, flow, etc) and with the help of JL Sullivan Construction, we will put together a budget estimate of the possible upgrades. The chosen clinic for Operation Renovation will receive complimentary design services that could include space planning and layout, lighting plans, finishes selections, millwork design, selection of artwork and signage. The other participating companies would also contribute services and products depending on the desired scope of work for the clinic. KOMA is excited to be a part of such a talented team and looks forward to the assessment and design process.
