August, 2009 – Oakdale, MN – Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc., recently participated in the official ground-breaking for the new Animal Emergency Clinic (AEC) in Oakdale, MN. AEC is an affiliation of east-metro veterinarians who came together to create a regional medical organization to provide crucial care services not otherwise available.
The new AEC facility will accommodate the needs of emergency veterinary medicine, critical care and surgical specialties.
Said Dan O’Brien, lead architect and KOMA principal: “We’ve been thrilled to be involved with AEC. Medical Director Dr. Karen Reynhout, the board and the entire hospital administration have again and again shown their commitment to bringing sophisticated veterinary services and specialized surgery options to Oakdale. This new facility will give them the ‘home base’ they need to realize their goals.”
KOMA provided structural engineering, architectural and interior design services for both phases of the approximately 14,000 square-foot facility. AEC had outgrown their current facility and moved to a nearby site that can accommodate a significantly larger building with easy access.
The AEC facility will feature soundproof spaces to control noise, specially designed plumbing and HVAC systems to deal with disease control, a workflow-friendly layout and an overall aesthetic created to enhance the quality of medical care.
