Nickelodeon Universe was the first theme park for Nickelodeon, and KOMA was the design force behind many of the retail and structural sites. KOMA worked closely with Nickelodeon who masterminded the overall attraction concept and with Forrec, a planning and design firm responsible for the overall master-planning of the park renovation. Located in Mall of America, park rides include the Avatar Airbender, the Surfrider and SpongeBob Square Pants Rock Bottom Plunge. Four new retail shops were added, including the 5,000-square-foot flagship Nickelodeon Store. Also involved in the project was TivoliToo, Inc., Themescapes and PCL Construction Services.
