August, 2017 – Oakdale, MINN. – Animal Emergency & Referral Center of Minnesota (AERC) recently completed a 17,000 square foot expansion of their Oakdale facility. The team at AERC made the decision to expand the hospital in response to a rise in demand for specialty services and treatment options for pets. The design team at Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates (KOMA) provided architectural, interior design, and structural engineering services to the renovated Oakdale center, which is now home to ten specialties, with room to add more.
March 2017 – Minneapolis, Minn. – New trends are revolutionizing the banking industry and Wings Financial Credit Union is committing to the change. October 2016 – Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota recently rolled out a new service providing members and non-members alike with insurance information, educational, and fitness classes. October 2016 – Eden Prairie, Minn. – On the fast track to becoming the leading provider in CRM and Salesforce consulting services, Demand Chain Systems relocated to a larger office space to house their growing team. July 2016, Chaska Minn. – The city of Chaska recently completed a renovation of Firemen’s Park located in the historic downtown area. Their goal was to upgrade the park, highlighting the town’s history and honoring the firefighters who helped develop the park years earlier. The city obtained 292 Design Group for the architecture and design. With their help and the structural engineers at Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates (KOMA) the re-designed park is complete and ready for the community to enjoy.
July 2016 – Lino Lakes, Minn. – School is out for summer but Lino Lakes Elementary is still taking on a new assignment. The school is in the design phase of a multiple year remodel to modernize multiple facets of the building. July 2016 – Minneapolis, Minn. – Banaadir Academy located in North Minneapolis houses 300 students each day and is hoping to increase that number in the upcoming years. March 2016, St. Paul, Minn. — Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc. (KOMA) worked with Rahr Corporation to design their 20,000-square-foot pilot brewery and technical center which will be fully operational beginning early spring.
February 2016 – Apple Valley, Minn. – With plans to relocate their Apple Valley branch within the city, Merchants Bank purchased a building and with the help of Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates (KOMA) and Elder Jones turned the space into a functional, bright and modern place reflective of the bank’s brand.
Open Cities Health Center, a non-profit community health center, purchased an additional St. Paul space to expand their operation in the Twin Cities. With the help of Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates (KOMA) and Reiling Construction, the facility has completed phase one of a two phase renovation process.
Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc. (KOMA) was the architect, structural engineer, and interior designer on the recently completed addition and renovations to three South Washington County School District 833 elementary schools: Grey Cloud Elementary in Cottage Grove and Middleton and Bailey Elementary schools in Woodbury. In that time agriculture has seen a lot of innovation and advancement paving the way for new design approaches and new challenges. From old to new, small to complex, KOMA remains rooted in the world’s largest industry.
April 2015, Northern Minn. – Located 40 miles north of Grand Rapids is the SPRUCE experiment. This project aims to observe varying temperature increases and their effects on Spruce trees and other elements within a bog’s habitat. The Oak Ridge National Laboratory compiled a team, including the structural engineers at Krech, O’Brien, Mueller and Associates, Inc. (KOMA) to bring the experiment to life.
March 2015, Eagan Minn. – Founded in 1946, Gopher Resource is an environmental solutions provider located out of Eagan, MN. Over the years, the company has grown to become one of the largest and most influential lead-based battery recyclers in North America. The relationship between Gopher Resource and Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc (KOMA) began back in 1988 when KOMA was hired by the recycling company to design a structural lintel over a door at their Eagan facility. Since then KOMA has worked with the company on numerous projects from structural columns to complete architectural, structural, and interior additions and remodeling. February 2015 – Inver Grove Heights, Minn. –Principal structural engineer Michael Lisowski of Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates, Inc. (KOMA) joined the Minnesota Construction Association (MCA) board for the 2015 year. In 2012, KOMA joined the MCA and five of the company’s employees became members. “KOMA joined the MCA to build relationships in our industry and to keep our community informed about the quality work we have done and continue to do”, says Lisowski, “it has been a great experience for us as a company and taking our involvement a step further seemed like an obvious choice.”

May 2014 – Inver Grove Heights, Minn. – A strategic, carefully executed 10-year ownership transition is nearly complete at Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates. Longtime KOMA employees and owners Marc DuBois, Steve Iaria, Mike Lisowski, Cindy Nagel, Brian Riley and Matt Van Hoof have played a central role in the company’s leadership and management for much of the past decade, and will continue to spearhead the strategic direction of the company.
May 2014 – St. Louis Park, MN – The St. Louis Park City Hall recently completed a substantial renovation to the first floor of their 50 year-old building with the help of Krech, O’Brien, Mueller and Associates. With an emphasis on sustainability, the multi-faceted project included a new stone entrance canopy, an open lobby and reception area, stairwell improvements, private meeting spaces, public restrooms, a staff break room, and work space.
March 2014 – Woodbury, MN – The Nebraska based outdoor equipment retailer, Cabela’s, is quickly expanding with a number of new retail sites nationwide. The company currently has announced 19 upcoming locations in the United States and Canada. November 2013 – South St. Paul, MN – The Veterinary Hospital Association (VHA), broke their record with over 370 participants in this year’s ‘The Future is Now’ expo. The VHA is an association created for veterinarians by veterinarians with the goal of helping practices by lowering their bottom line.
