InterKOM

Three, Two, One, Launch!

Welcome to the inaugural post to InterKOM!

I’m Brady Mueller, and it’s my distinct pleasure to introduce you to InterKOM, and also to our new website as a whole. The site has been in the works for some time, but we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off 2009 than to peel off the wrappings and introduce it to the world.

One of the features in the new site that excites me the most is the portfolio section. Honestly, we’ve never been very good at “showing off” our work. As a firm, it’s not in our nature to boast, and we’ve always believed that it was best to let our clients do our bragging for us. But – at the urging of those very same clients – we’re working hard to swallow our Midwestern-Scandinavian modesty, clear our throats, look you in the eye and tell you that, quite simply, we do fantastic work. And we’re proud of it. And we believe that others could benefit from our experience and expertise. (Whew! We’re still getting used to this…)

And while we’ve elevated the visibility of the work we do, we wanted to ensure that our approach and philosophy don’t get buried. We strive to meet or exceed our clients’ goals and expectations, but it’s how we go about our work that really sets us apart from other firms. We view our clients as true partners, and believe that the whole can truly be greater than the sum of its parts. By working together – with our clients, and with our amazing colleagues – it’s our view that we will achieve the best possible end-result and leave everyone involved delighted.

A quick note about the people I am so fortunate to work with, and without whom this site – and this firm – would not be possible: these… people… are… amazing. They’re professional, yet fun. They’re creative, yet disciplined. They’re independent, freethinking individuals who work as a high-functioning team. Please take a moment to visit our team page and learn more about them…they are at the core of everything we do.

OK, I’m running out of steam, so I’m going to wrap-up this post (after all, we want you to come back!). The idea behind InterKOM (get it? Inter-KOM?) is to give you a periodic glimpse into the thinking of key members of our team. As we’ve mentioned, sometimes the contents of this blog will be very focused on the area of architecture, or structural engineering, or interior design. But other times, the focus will veer significantly away from those areas into… well… um… well, you’ll just have to come back and read the next author’s post, right?

Lastly, I want you to know that you are important to us… as a client, referral source, prospect or friend of Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates. When you hear from us, we’d love to hear back from you. Tell us what we are doing that you like… and what you might not like. Whether it relates to our work or our philosophy in business, we’re interested in your thoughts and perceptions. You can start with our new site. Drop me an e-mail or give me a call to give us a piece of your mind. We’ll be eagerly waiting your comments.

Best wishes for a blessed holiday season and a prosperous new year!
