Rivertown Animal Hospital Wins Award

April, 2009 – Stillwater, MN – Veterinary Economics – a source for expert veterinary information on practice management, communication, business skills and leadership — announced recently that Rivertown Animal Hospital has been chosen as a national Merit Award winner in the 2009 Hospital Design Competition.

Krech, O’Brien, Mueller & Associates designed Rivertown Animal Hospital in collaboration with Dr. Ginger Garlie. The award entitles Rivertown Animal Hospital to a prominent feature article in an upcoming issue of the publication, and grants them the benefits of a media blitz to local and state media. Also, the hospital will receive exposure on the Gallery of Award-Winning Hospitals at the 2009 Hospital Design Conference in Kansas City, MO, held in late August.

Krech, O’Brien, Mueller and Associates first became involved with Dr. Ginger Garlie’s successful practice when it became apparent that they needed a larger facility. The new Rivertown Animal Hospital is a series of beautiful client spaces which are efficiently integrated into a functional treatment/ICU area designed using the great room concept. All of the support spaces are easily accessible from the treatment area, and the staff has complete visual access for quick response. The energy-efficient HVAC system utilizes an extensive heat-recovery system serving all six independent zones and the finish materials were selected for long-term durability. There is built-in space for expansion in the second floor and with space for an addition to the west.

“We designed a facility that would reflect our philosophy of care, service to our clients and the community, and provide us with the ability to grow and respond to the changing needs of our veterinary clients,” said Dr. Garlie.
